Formed in 2015, the Western Michigan Genealogical Society's DNA Interest Group (DIG) meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Grand Rapids Public Library's VanderVeen Center on the 4th floor. Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. The group discusses the use of Y-DNA (male) and mtDNA (mitochondrial—female) and autosomal DNA (atDNA) tests and their relationship to family history research.

The Capital Area DNA Interest Group will meet on July 27th at 10 am at the Capital Area District Library -- Downtown Lansing (401 S. Capitol Ave, Lansing, Michigan, 48933). Street parking is free on weekends and the gated lot behind the library (entrances on Kalamazoo and Washington) should also be open.  The group is hosted by the Ingham County Genealogical Society, Lansing Area African American Genealogical Society, and Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society and meets quarterly. All levels welcome.

The DSGR DNA Special Interest Group has been formed as a learning organization where we exchange our findings as we explore the growing subject of Genetic Genealogy. We meet quarterly at the Detroit Public Library (Main) to learn from and share our experiences.
 
There is free parking in the Employee Parking lot (off Putnam) each Saturday.
